VICIS ZERO1 Wins Top IDEA Award
We are proud to announce that our work for VICIS ZERO1, the revolutionary football helmet designed to prevent head injuries, is the winner of a top International Design Excellence Award (IDEA). Sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), this year’s competition attracted more than 1,700 entries from 30-plus countries. IDSA will reveal which entries won Gold and which won Silver on August 17th, during the grand IDEA 2016 Ceremony at The Henry Ford in Detroit.
Spun out of the University of Washington’s CoMotion incubation lab, VICIS was named the final winner in the Head Health Challenge II, a collaboration among the NFL, Under Armour, and GE to identify and fund innovations that improve head health for athletes, members of the military and society at-large. Since unveiling the design earlier in the year, VICIS has secured over $18M in funding.
