Smarter Sellers Require Smarter Tools
John L. Scott saw an opportunity to provide buyers and sellers with new tools to help them with issues such as an increasing amount of data online including customer opinions. Agents are also facing new challenges where greater information availability is threatening their role. Our solution was to design an application using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) technology and a complimentary website designed to help buyers, sellers and agents through the home-selling process. The application and website bring together information from several online sources such as the John L. Scott website, market data sources and other real estate services. With a more unified experience, JLS will help foster a collaborative relationship between the sellers, buyers and agents.

Case study abstract:
John L. Scott Real Estate wanted to give home sellers more information and help them collaborate more closely with agents through the sales process. The company recently built a proof of concept for a “seller application” using Microsoft® Expression® Design software and the Microsoft Visual Studio® development system. Developed with assistance from Artefact, the solution uses a software-plus-services approach to retrieve information from the John L. Scott data center and the Microsoft Virtual Earth™ online mapping platform, and then presents it through a rich, interactive user experience based on Windows® Presentation Foundation. In only six weeks, the company confirmed that it can bring together the information sellers want and present it in a unique and compelling way, delivering both significant functionality and an unmatched user experience in a very short amount of time.
